Coach Weissman
Abby Weissman, JIII and JIV coach
Abby teaches English at CVA and has been an endurance
athlete for most of her life, running competitively,
road biking, swimming, and nordic skiing. She has
worked at the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center for the last 4
years and is extremely excited to be part of the
program and coaching one of the sports that she is so
passionate about.

Coach Masterman
Junior I and II Coach
- Adam Masterman
- Adam was hooked on cross country skiing by his high school ski program. He competed for Mt. Abram High School for four years, under coaches Merit and Sally Bean, a team that skied to three consecutive state titles. Masterman took the individual state titles in 1996, preceding his younger brother Ethan, who captured the freestyle honors in 1997. He joined the Bates college nordic team in the fall of 1996, and represented Bates at the Junior Olympics in 1998. He also served as captain during the 1999-2000 season. After brief coaching stints at Cape Elizabeth and Mt. Abram, Adam and his brother Ethan founded Parmachenee Nordic club in 2002. Designed to provide elite level race support to upper-level juniors, Parmachenee worked with athletes from different high schools who wanted to compete at the NENSA and Junior Olympic level. In addition to coaching Parmachenee, Masterman has led Maine's JII and Eastern High School teams, and continues to serve on the coaching staff for both events. Currently the art teacher for nearby Stratton and Kingfield elementary schools, Adam and coach Weissman are piloting a new nordic program at CVA.
